Dr. Fei Chen received his PhD in electric engineering in The Chinese University of Hong Kong in 2005. Later on, he continued his research as post-doctor and senior research fellow in States and Hong Kong, and moved to Southern University of Science and Technology (SUSTech) as a faculty in 2014. Dr. Chen’s research interests include speech perception and assistive hearing technology, brain-computer interface, and biomedical signal processing. He is a Senior Member of IEEE, a Full Member of Acoustical Society of America, and a Life Member of Asia-Pacific Signal and Information Processing Association.

Dr. Chen published over 80 journal papers and over 80 conference papers, most of which are in the areas of speech technology and biomedical signal analysis in IEEE journals and conferences. He received the best presentation award in the 9th Asia Pacific Conference of Speech, Language and Hearing, and 2011 National Organization for Hearing Research Foundation Research Awards in States. Dr. Chen is now serving as associate editor/editorial member of . He worked as Leading Guest Editor for 2017 special issue of “Speech perception of Chinese-speaking cochlear implantees” in International Journal of Audiology and Guest Editor for 2017 special issue of “Advanced signal processing and modeling for neuroengineering” in Biomedical Engineering Online.
