Prof. Qingfeng Zhang (张青峰)

Dr. Qingfeng Zhang was born in Changzhou, Jiangsu, China. He obtained the B.E. degree from University of Science and Technology of China (USTC), Hefei, China, in 2007, the Ph.D. degree from Nanyang Technological University, Singapore, in 2011, all in electrical engineering.

From June 2011 to December 2013, he was with Poly-Grames Research Center at Polytechnique Montréal, Montréal, Canada, as a postdoctoral fellow. Since December 2013, he has been with Southern University of Science and Technology, Shenzhen, China, where he is currently a Full Professor and Deputy Dean in the department of Electronics and Electrical Engineering. He also serves as the Director of Shenzhen Engineering Center for Electromagnetic Nondestructive Detection, and Vice Director of Shenzhen Key Lab of Electromagnetic Information.

Dr. Zhang is an IET Fellow, and an IEEE senior member. His research interests are largely in information electromagnetics, with a specific focus on leveraging dispersion engineering to study the interaction between electromagnetic waves and information. He is the founding Co-Chair of IEEE Antennas and Propagation Society Shenzhen Chapter, which received the Outstanding Chapter Award in 2022. He is also the founding Chair of IEEE Microwave Theory and Techniques Society Shenzhen Chapter. He served as the Associate Editor of IEEE Antenn. Wireless Propag. Lett.. He was the Publication Chair of 2016 IEEE ICCS, Local Organization Committee Co-Chair of 2017 IEEE EDAPS, TPC Co-Chair (Track 9) of 2018 IEEE ICTA, TPC Co-Chair of 2019 CSQRWC, TPC Chair of 2021 CSQRWC, and General Chair of 2021 ComComAp. He also served in the review board of various journals in electromagnetics.

Dr. Zhang received the Young Scientist Awards at the 2018 URSI-RASC and 2018 ACES, respectively, as well as the Best Paper Award at the 15th Global Symposium on Millimeter-Waves & Terahertz in 2024. He is a Distinguished Lecturer of Electromagnetic Science.
